The Seattle Art Museum The classic

Why it made the list: The city's flagship art museum, known as SAM, with a wide-ranging collection from Native Northwest Coast art to modern and contemporary work, marked by the famous 'Hammering Man' sculpture out front. Its free waterfront sculpture park is a bonus.
